Directions:

  1. Across the top of a sheet of paper reference all the people involved with the process who need-to-know. Names, addresses, phone and FAX numbers.
  2. Down the left side of the paper list all the items that need to be monitored. Examples: VOE’s, VOD’s survey, appraisal, credit report - “sent out” and “came back” for each. Also any things the buyer promised to deliver that is “public information.”
  3. Make a column from top to bottom for each week between now and closing.
  4. Once a week you or your processor check off what is going on & fax. Example: Week 1: VOE, VOD and credit report sent out. Just make a check mark beside each of those three items. Fax that report off to all pertinent parties in the transaction. Week 2: Check off what was sent out or ordered and what came back. Fax.

Every week, just a few check marks and a few faxes and every one knows exactly what is going on. Very simple and it will save you and everyone else in the transaction a lot of aggravation.

Honest, we Realtors don’t call and pester you because we’re lonely. We just want to know what’s going on!
