Professional Summary
Originating his first loan in 1992, Todd Carpenter has watched the explosion of technology harnessed by mortgage brokers revolutionize the lending industry. At the forefront of this revolution, he has been a user of Point Loan Origination Software since the blue screen days of it's earliest DOS versions.
Todd moved into the wholesale sector in 1996, and joined Washtenaw Mortgage Company in 98. Washtenaw was among the first wholesale companies to allow online rate locking, submissions and status to mortgage brokers. Todd was trained by FNMA on the earliest Desktop Underwriting programs, passing this knowledge on to hundreds of mortgage brokers.
In 2000, Todd joined Myers Internet, the pioneering company in website design and hosting for mortgage brokers. He worked as a Sales Executive, promoting and speaking nationally with brokers yearning to expand their business to the web.
After some time with LION Inc., another mortgage website developer, and Commonwealth United, a leading wholesale lender, Todd again took the pioneer route and built the first blog dedicated to mortgage brokers, and the industry as a whole. Lenderama.com covers training, technology, marketing, crime and triumphs in the field of mortgages and real estate. It's Todd's diversified experience in retail, wholesale, and internet technology, all at the blossom of their evolution, that gives him a unique perspective on the industry.
Todd was a speaker at the 1999 Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers Summer Convention Workshop on "Technology in the Mortgage Market Place" and before the general assembly breakfast at the 2000 North Carolina Association of Mortgage Brokers Annual Convention.
